Elvis Fans was published in Auckland's Metro Magazine in August 1986 on the ninth anniversary of the King's death. I developed the project based on my own experience of being an Elvis Fan. I proposed the project to the editor of Metro - Warwick Roger - who commissioned me to proceed. My emphasis was showing the people behind the obsession.
