The Southland Museum & Art Gallery, which closed in 2018, presented me with an opportunity to photograph its emptied dioramas that once displayed museum objects. These images were captured from 2018 to 2021 while the museum was in the process of dismantling its displays and display cabinets. The emptied spaces provide fascinating insights into how objects were displayed and the theatrical nature of museum presentations.
